2010 AFCEA Scholarship Program
Administered by the Stuttgart Chapter of AFCEA
GOAL
· Promote higher education in math, engineering, technical, and computer sciences through financial scholarship support based on a project competition.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
· One or more scholarships totaling up to $10,000 in U.S. Savings Bonds will be awarded in 2010. At a minimum, at least one scholarship for $2,500 is expected to be awarded. Final awards will be based on the number and quality of project submissions. Competition opens Day Month 2010 with a strict cut-off of nominations on Month Day, 2010. A special review panel will meet with all nominees and judge entries at a time (not to interfere with school hours) and place (Patch Barracks) in April. Award winners will be announced as soon as possible but NLT Month 2010.
· All nominees will, at a minimum, receive a Certificate of Participation in the competition and a one year student membership in AFCEA (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association).
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
· High School Senior.
· Attendance at Patch High School, the International School of Stuttgart, or home-schoolers with a direct association with the greater Stuttgart military community.
· Must be nominated by the respective POC listed below.
· Each nominee is limited to one project and a project should only have one nominee.

· Schools are requested to provide one or more nominees by Month day, 2009

SELECTION CRITERIA
· Nominees are to prepare a project for presentation of a scientific or technical nature. Projects may deal with communications, physics, multimedia, mathematics, or other related fields.
· The intent is to be restrictive on project entries only to the extent that they would be appropriate for the basic values and interests of AFCEA International.
· Nominees should be prepared to present at least a 5 minute overview and/or demonstration of their respective project
· Projects may consist of a demonstration model, an experiment, a working mechanism, charts, diagrams, media presentation, or similar exposition.
· Students will be responsible for transporting, setting up, and removing any project display.
